Academic advising supports student success in online programs using a two-tiered advising system. Kathy Carneiro, the online program advisor, assists students in selecting and scheduling courses to ensure program requirements are met.
The program advisor provides students with a consistent link to campus and is the primary resource for important program information. She is well prepared to assist with course or program issues and can also help with other problems (health, work, personal) that may interfere with coursework. Since it’s much easier to address issues when they happen rather than at the end of the semester, contact her immediately as challenges arise. She is very experienced in helping students work through the barriers to success and may have resources to help.

A faculty advisor will be assigned when you are ready to complete the Culminating Experience/Public Health Analysis (PHA) and practicum. Faculty are aligned with the student’s program of study and PHA topic of choice.
Faculty advisors are experts in their field and can offer a tremendous amount of insight and guidance to students as they conduct their PHAs and fulfill their practicum goals.
Contact DL Direct for further information. Students can also always contact instructors and online program faculty with questions regarding courses or for professional advice.
