Welcome to Dr. Susan Cheng, our new associate dean for equity, diversity, and inclusion! She is also a clinical associate professor in the Department of Social, Behavioral, and Population Sciences, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Epidemiology.
Cheng comes to us from Benedictine University, where she recruited and mentored the most diverse Department of Public Health at that university. She aims to continue her work at Tulane in creating a "dynamic, inclusive community that celebrates and welcomes the talents and vision of the most diverse School of Public Health in the country" and "to foster an academic home that promotes equitable recruitment, support, and advancement of individuals from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, first generation, immigrant, and multicultural communities, who can thrive and succeed in a highly collaborative environment. All are welcome here at Tulane," she says.
Dr. Cheng intends to present several town halls this fall - keep an eye out for further details.

I will also be holding regular drop-in EDI office hours on the third Thursdays of every month at noon. Please drop by with any concerns, questions, or just to say hello.
The meetings for the rest of the academic year will be: 12/16; 1/20; 2/17; 3/17; and 4/21.
