Tulane SPHTM Faculty Honored

BauschTwo SPHTM faculty celebrated significant honors recently. Dr. Daniel Bausch, associate professor in the Department of Tropical Medicine, was selected as a councilor to the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH). Dr. Bausch, who also holds an appointment in Infectious Disease Section of the School of Medicine, is currently seconded to the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit 6 in Lima, Peru, where he is director of the Emerging Infections Department. He specializes in the research and control of emerging tropical viruses. Council members lead the ASTMH, whose roots go back more than 100 years. Dr. Bausch was installed as a new councilor at the society’s annual meeting, held in Philadelphia. 

StranovaDr. Thomas ‘TJ' Stranova, clinical assistant professor, was presented the American College of Healthcare Executives’ Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award. The award recognizes ACHE affiliates who have significantly contributed toward the advancement of health care management excellence and the achievement of the goals of ACHE. This national award was bestowed at an event of the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the ACHE. Dr. Stranova serves as the department's director for the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program, the Administrative Residency Program, and as the co-director of the department’s China Abroad Service Learning Program.
