The school's alumni association was organized in 1997 and consists of an executive committee, a board, and alumni members. The full board meets at least once a year, and stays in touch during the year through conference calls and emails. Both the board and the executive committee are eager to have the association play a more vital and active role in the lives of school alumni.  Intial actions included the first-ever call for dues. The association has also launched efforts to develop, fully fund, and maintain an endowed alumni-sponsored scholarship for public health and tropical medicine students. Officers would love to hear more ideas from alumni about how they would like to see the alumni association continue the connection with the school after each student graduates.

		Lori Hoepner, President Shown here on a New Orleans street car with her son Aidan, Lori is a 1995 maternal and child health graduate.  She is the deputy director of organizational and analytical data management and is enrolled in Columbia's DrPH program in environmental health sciences.
		Elaine Hicks, President-Elect Elaine graduated in 1994 with a degree in health communications and education. She is now a health sciences librarian at the Rudolph Matas Library.
		NancyKay Sullivan Wessman, Vice-President NancyKay, a 1989 graduate in health communications and education, left public service six years ago to work as a public health advocate, consultant, freelance reporter, and non-fiction writer.
