Biography
Kaitlin's research interests are in lifestyle epidemiology, especially nutrition and sleep, and the social determinants of cardiometabolic risk factors throughout the lifecourse. Her current dissertation research aims to examine the long-term relationships between diet and sleep and how these relationships contribute to health disparities. She has received an Individual NIH Pre-doctoral Fellowsip, the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (F31), to support her dissertation research and training. She studies under the mentorship of Dr. Lydia Bazzano.
Prior to her Ph.D. training, Kaitlin earned an MPH in community health nutrition. She thereafter worked on several projects assessing the nutritional status and feeding practices of children in Ethiopia and supporting monitroing and evaluation of child nutrition programs there.
