Best Article for 2007

Diego Rose, PhD, MPH, received the "Best Article for 2007"Award from the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior for his article "Food Stamps, the Thrifty Food Plan, and Meal Preparation:  The Importance of the Time Dimension for US Nutrition Policy."  The award was presented at the Society for Nutrition Education annual conference in July of 2008.

Outstanding Research Award

Carolyn Johnson,PhD, clinical associate professor in charge of evaluation for the PRC, received the Outstanding Research Award at the annual conference of the American School Health Association, in October 2005. The award, presented by the ASHA Research Council, is conferred to an individual who has demonstrated a sustained or an outstanding contribution to school health research.

Fellow, American Academy of Health Behavior

Carolyn Johnson, PhD, was named a Fellow for the Class of 2004.  AAHB Fellows have authored or co-authored at least 50 research-refereed publications in national or international journals among other requirements. 

40 Under 40

Erin Baker, MS Ed, former assistant director for the PRC, was profiled as part of Gambit Weekly's annual "40 Under 40" issue.  These young professionals are heralded for their contributions to New Orleans and their potential for making the community a better place.  Erin was highlighted for her work with the PRC, including her key role in forming the Food Policy Advisory Committee and her involvement in the PRC's observational study of playground equipment.  You can view the full article here, with Erin's profile on page 21.
